Everyone settle down…I know you’re BURSTING with excitement over the new Windows Vista release. Well, after you change your sweaty pit shirt & finish your deep breathing exercises, you can grab a nice cup of Calming Chamomile tea and pull up your chair for an interesting & necessary read on Vista.

First off, let it be know that I am an IT Director and have had Vista loaded at both work & home for over 3 months now. At work I have the business version loaded, which seems to run fine on a diaper wearing PC (brand new for you dry folks). While at home, I’ve had an entirely different experience. My home PC is running an Athlon 1.33MHz process with 512MB of RAM, seems quite enough to me, well…I was wrong. I loaded Windows Vista Ultimate & have been …waiting… ever since! I wait to boot-up, I wait to log-in, I wait to pull up Firefox, I wait to pull up Thunderbird…oops, what’s that? Oh…just the daily “UltraVNC took a crap” warning that takes over my whole PC until I interact with it. You get the point.
I’m about this far (can you see me holding up my fingers in a “pinching” way?) from reloading XP, or ever better…Ubuntu! However…since I’m an IT Director, I need to figure out how to tweak this thing for my users sake! Well…rather than get Carpal Tunnel from typing all the tips and tweaks here, I’ll give you a link to someone who has done a more complete job than I would have anyway!
As always, thanks for visiting…don’t forget to Digg or whatever…come back to eJabs soon!
Here’s the link…happy tweaking!!

Does your home PC have a separate video card? If not, you need another 512 megs of memory to make Vista run right.
Oh, well there’s your problem. Vista won’t run on a 1 Mhz machine, you’ll need a computer at least a thousand times that speed!
lol…thanks Mike…good advice! What was I thinking???!!!
