The Liberal Media Agenda Sucks
April 12th, 2007 by Matthew Jabs
RT at UV just posted an article about how he was sick of all the Bush bashing the media is currently bombarding us with. I commented on his article and gave my two cents; my comment inspired this post.
First let me say that Dan Rather was one of the worst liberal, agenda pushing journalists I’ve ever watched. The reason Dan had to “resign” from CBS is because he went too far when he was caught in a bold faced lie that involved false accusations against the President. This example gives us an idea of just how far the liberal media will go to push their agenda. The same agenda that is pushing our country further and further from the God who helped us form our great nation!
Anyway…here’s another example of the mind-set of the liberal media engine:
Last night I was watching The O’Reilly Factor with Bill O’Reilly. He had a woman on who had called him a hate monger (I can’t remember the woman’s name or her exact quote, but I’ll summarize what happened). When they invited her to the show she was given the questions that Bill would ask her so she had time to research her answers and be ready.
Bill’s main request to her was (I’m paraphrasing), “Give me one example of how I am a hate monger or how i have spread hate on this program.”
She replied for like 30 seconds but had no relevant answer and could give no example. Bill asked her again…and then again. Each time she could not come up with a single example. Bill laughed at her & pointed out that she knew the questions she’d be asked so she had time to research them and she still could not come up with anything. It was hilarious!
After he laughed at her & was saying goodbye, she said, “I still stick by what I said before”.
What? She sticks by the fact that he’s spreads hate, yet even when given a chance to do research she couldn’t come up with an example. Where are these types of people created? La la land? There is absolutely no rational thinking in their bodies.
This is how the liberal media engine operates. It’s not by fact & it’s not by truth. It’s simply an agenda, nothing less, nothing more; and it makes me sick.

The reason our country is in the state it is in is because Christians have dropped the ball…BIG TIME. The culture has always been perverse and wicked. The church is to shine as a city on a hill. 2 questions: When is the last time you prayed for our government and how are you involved in a local church carrying out the great commission?
Great comment Joe.
We need to raise our awareness as Christians and Americans, and fight back against those who are definitely not afraid to fight against us.
Do you seriously think that some people on ‘your side’ are any different?
This is the problem with the human race in general, everyone’s too ready to join a side and then kill anyone who disagrees with them.
If people stopped taking sides, and started actually thinking for themselves the world could be a better place. But that won’t happen. Better to join a tribe and throw rocks at all the other tribes ’til they agree or don’t exist anymore.
It’s good to be ‘liberal’ about some issues.
It’s good to be ‘conservative’ about others.
It means you can think, and change, and become a better person.
But the last thing Politicians of any hue want is an electorate that thinks, so they encourage the name-calling and the labeling, and people fall for it hook, line and sinker and carry on throwing the rocks for them.
I despair.
Chris:
I meant as Christians, not as conservatives. Politically, I have no affiliation, except possibly despair.
Religiously I do have an affiliation, and I am talking about fighting for what we believe in in a positive manner, not a negative.
The fact remains however, the liberal media agenda does suck.
Chris has been listening to too many John Lennon songs. His idealism is unrealistic although when the prince of Peace comes He will establish the utopia Chris speaks of…although He will do it with a sword, not stones. Chris, you don’t seem to understand that “Not taking a side.” is taking a side. Not taking a stand against error, and sin and wrong, is taking the side of sin, error and wrong.
I’ve never really liked John Lennon.
The point I was attempting to make, perhaps badly, is that taking a side and sticking to it blindly is wrong-and more than that stupid.
Ignoring everything someone says because they are labelled a ‘Conservative’ is as dumb as ignoring everything someone says because they are labelled ‘Liberal’.
People are too entrenched, too certain that their way is the only way and if you don’t like it, you’ll find yourself on the wrong end of a ’sword of peace’(oxymoron anyone?).
I didn’t come down with the last shower of rain Jizzo and I’m far from idealistic, I just get wound up occasionally by people being so wilfully stupid and hateful (outside of this blog post that is).
Media agendas suck, period. It doesn’t matter whose, because if you tell me the likes of Fox News is unbiased I’ll laugh in your face.
I’m not a Christian, I’m not a liberal, I’m not a Conservative. I don’t hate people because they’re gay, or black, or foreign or religious or because they don’t agree with me.
I’m just me, I don’t set out to hurt anyone, and I’ll help anyone that asks. Some peoples beliefs say that I’ll spend a fiery eternity in torment because of that, and I don’t believe that either.
That’s my opinion and you’re more than welcome to your own-I guess we’ll all find out anyway.
Right, I’m going back to inconsequential blogging, because the human race ain’t going to change based on my comments, have fun.
No, the world won’t be changed Chris, but that doesn’t change the fact that blogging, and commenting gives us a great debate platform. You get to read other points-of-view…and as your own comment read, that is a positive thing.
Don’t get discouraged. If you believe a certain way, then that’s the way you believe. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t participate, read other comments, and be engaging.
Actually discussions like this are awesome because they make us back up our beliefs, and sometimes when we’re forced to do just that, if we can’t back them up…then it’s always good to have an open mind to a belief system that can be backed up.
Isn’t that a true definition of intelligence? If someone else’s argument is much more concrete, then as an intelligent person, shouldn’t I be willing to be swayed?
The only thing that is going to bring true freedom is the truth. The truth sets free. We cannot all create our own standard of truth. There must be a right and wrong otherwise anything goes. The liberal agenda in the parts where it goes astray from what is right. Chris, we will indeed all find out the truth when we die. Your statement proves that you believe there is an absolute truth that will be revealed when we die. I believe we can know it before we get to that point.
I don’t hate anybody. I disagree with people who I believe are in error according to the standard of truth set forth in the Bible. I am not their judge and jury.
Chris’ point was that we should not judge people based on the label(s) attached to them.
Unfortunately labels do exist, but we don’t need to judge based on them.
For instance, one of the pastors in my church is what most would consider to be a liberal.
While I don’t agree with him on some things, I have had great conversations with him and his point of view is quite interesting. Christ said that the world will know us because of our love, not because of our intellectual arguments.
Christ also said that everyone who really loved Him would keep His commandments. I am not interested in intellectual arguments. What saith the Scripture? I agree that we should not judge someone based on labels. But when people state that they believe or practice something that is contrary to the clear teachings of scripture then error needs to be identified. Many liberal pastors and politicians (not much difference) have problems with the Bible where it says that homosexuality is wrong and sinful, killing unwanted babies is wrong. There is no needed ‘dialoge’ and respect for conversations and points of view. They are wrong. While they might even make it sound flowery the only problem is that they are wrong. Not according to what I think. I am not the standard, the Bible is. Thus saith the Lord. I am not mad at gay people, I don’t hate them, I don’t hate anybody.
Don Imus gets his radio show cancelled because of racial comments. I am OK with that. MSNBC can put whoever they want on the air. But why is there not outrage over black people who use the N-word? Why is Rosie O’donnel not fired for her Diarrhea of the mouth and attack on people and groups? Because the truth is blurred and Jabs is right, the media is a mess because there is no standard for right and wrong.
It is obvious to me that you have stereotypes of people with certain labels. I doubt I will change your mind, so I’m not going to try.
For the record, even my liberal pastors use the Bible as the authority for all they believe. Don’t stereotype them.
Also, it is not our job as Christians to tell the world that they are wrong. If someone is not a Christian, then how the hell could you expect them to adhere to Biblical standards?
People’s errors do NOT need to be identified unless they start dialogue with us and even then you cannot expect them to see things from a Christian POV.
You are what most people resent about Christians.
Matthew 22:36-40 gives us the two greatest commandments:
36: Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38: This is the first and great commandment.
39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40: On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We should focus on loving the brethren, unless we don’t believe each other to be brethren…which seems to be the case here.
“You are what most people resent about Christians.”
Yep, the kind that calls evil, evil, and doesn’t put light for darkness. The world has killed every prophet, crucified Christ and butchered every single apostle because they spoke the truth and called for people to repent from the error of their ways. You are indeed correct that this is what the world hates about Christianity. Jesus said, They hated and persecuted me and they will hate and persecute you too.
Are you Lutheran by chance?
Anyway, I’ve spoken to many people with your mindset and it seems that you like to ignore the face that though Jesus spoke the truth, he focused on loving people (as Matt pointed out).
Jesus does not appreciate martyrs who don’t show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control.
I don’t wish to argue with you any more, as I already said, I doubt I’ll change your mind, but I did want to speak my mind for the sake of others who might read this. Shalom.
As I stated on my own blog many times, I am not of any particular religion. That doesn’t mean, however, that I don’t enjoy engaging people from all God-fearing religions. Each viewpoint is unique and can be enlightening.
The liberal media (and one conservative network) have a tendency to whitewash the issues with their one-sidedness and bias. Sensational stories get to the headlines while the important issues get swept under the rug. If you don’t agree, spend an hour watching CNN Headline News.
Seriously, I don’t give two shiites about Anna Nicole Smith’s case and I don’t really see any reason why any of us should care, but yet it has been national news for a month now.
When the media isn’t being liberally or conservatively bias, they’re writing about issues that matter about as much as the freckle on my left butt cheek!
For example: Josh’s submission above, or how about Nancy Kerrigan, or O.J. Simpson, or any of the Brittney Spears headlines!
Wow…now that’s the way to report important news issues to the public!
I think I’ll write another post on the worst headline news stories ever.
