eJabs Hooks Up - May 15th, 2007

May 15th, 2007 by Matthew Jabs

For those of you who don’t know…Hooking Up = Link Love (c’mon, getcher minds outta da gutter)!

Perhaps something I neglect to practice as I should, is the art of “hooking up”.  I will try to hook up more in the future, I promise.   ;-)

Anyway…here are my hook ups for today:

Thanks to  Mark at MeAndMyDrum (MAMD) for adding me to the “Drum Corps”.

Thanks to Mattsofi of SapphireKnight for sharing his bathroom habits!  Check out his new theme…it looks great Mattsofi.

Thanks to Andy Beard of Niche Marketing for his advice on meme’s & SEO.  Check out his recent post about the importance of having friends on Digg.

Thanks to Chris of Blog-Op for posting a fix to a Firefox/Subscribe To Comments Plugin incompatibility, and giving me credit for it.  I actually found the fix from the O’Flaherty blog (which Chris also mentioned).  Thanks to Paul O’Flaherty for coming up with this fix.  I panned the Internet for a good few hours before finding his excellent post.

Thanks to the Brown Baron of Brown Thoughts for giving us some good info on the up & coming MyBlogLog changes.

Sorry to Garry Conn.  His site crashed.  Let’s pull together & give him any help we can.  Let me know what you need from me Garry.

Sorry to BlogPaul for getting booted from Google Adwords.  You’ll definitely want to read his post so you can start to learn how to not get booted!

Have you checked out Coaches excellent material over at YouCan’tCoachThat?  Also thanks to Coach for designating me as a “Thinking Blogger”.

Thanks to RT & Hari for carrying on my recent meme about Your Favorite Unpopular Posts.  Hari put a little different spin on the meme, which is cool.  I think his idea is a good one.

Also, thanks to Matt over at BlogAboutYourBlog (BAYB) for carrying on the meme & giving us his Favorite Unpopular Posts.  Matt has been a great recent addition to the eJabs readership.

Thanks to GoldCoaster for all the pro-Microsoft opinions he spreads freely throughout my site.  It is important to have both sides of any story!  ;-)  Thanks again GC.  Be sure to check out GC’s latest love affair with M$ here.

Steve of Ramblings from the Marginalized has posted an incredible story of a man killing himself & one other with a circular saw!  It’s a must read.

Be sure to check out the post by Max of Confessions of a Freeware Junkie on using FeedBuddy to simplify the layout of your sidebars.  I just may take him up on this idea.

And last but not least, Rose Desrochers of Today’s Woman has posted another must read.  This one is on the sensitive issue of abortion & how it relates to a woman’s body.  Thanks Rose.

Thanks for the mention.

About Google adsense. I used to be with them at one point. I opted out myself when I reached around $99 (after a year or so) and I received my cheque.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones, but the click-through rates are abysmally low.

Baron…
no prob, I’m glad I found your site. I believe I found it when visiting MeAndMyDrum.

Hari…
adsense gives me about a 2%-4% CTR on any given day. Compared to the .04% that I get with my Bidvertiser ads, I think it’s pretty good. Plus, I make more money blogging than with my savings interest! ;-) Granted, I give the adsense ads precedence over the Bidvertiser ads, but I tried putting them in the top spots & their CTR was still very dismal.

Thanks Matt.

I would need to return the favor one day. Before that I need to know what is your preferred link love phrase.
