eJabs WordPress auto-upgrade to 2.5.1
May 16th, 2008 by Matthew Jabs
For those of you who thought I was hurt or dead…I apologize, I’m fine…just been too busy to write for awhile.
I wanted to report that I downloaded the WordPress Automatic Upgrade to test it out and see if it could make Wordpress upgrades easier for the less tech savvy. I’m happy to report that it most certainly does! I have successfully upgraded my WordPress installation from 2.2.1 to 2.5.1, and let me add that I LOVE the new features in version 2.5.1. There are soooo many awesome new tools & functionality that really make WordPress a web platform to be rivaled! Thanks WordPress!
If you’re into building websites for people, but worried that you’ll have to maintain them too much for the folks you built them for, worry no longer. This was always a concern of mine, but with the creation of this plugin…maintaining a WordPress blog is much easier! Thank you so much to the plugin developer (Keith Dsouza) for his time spent on this…it may just be the best WordPress tool I have seen to date.
One word to the wise, and the plugin creator actually suggests this, is to run the tool in manual mode as opposed to automatic mode. Manual mode meaning it walks you through the very few steps of the process.
Everyone smile…the days of manually copying WordPress upgrade files up to web servers via FTP are GONE!!
